The Perfect Housewife

I was watching Anthea Turner’s, The Perfect Housewife on MBC 4, yesterday morning.
I was laughing as it started because there is NO-ONE on this earth that can be as pristine clean as her……….
Anyway, she really grilled the two ladies and to be honest.. well, their houses were disgusting.
BUT. She did have a few tips that even I picked up on..
When it comes to ironing, really there has to be some kind of routine..
For example, when it comes to a shirt, there should be some structure/organisation.
So, instead of maybe swirling the shirt round a few times, trying to figure out which part you have ironed and which parts you haven’t. Have an order.
So.
1. Collar
2. Cuffs
3. Seams/Buttons
4. Front
5. Back

Normally it takes me 3-4minutes to iron a shirt properly, with this method it took me just over a minute and a half.
Another handy tip was, don’t spray the starch on the inside, spray it on the outside.

Yummy Yummy! Garlic Mushrooms!

This is a simple recipe, great for a starter or light brunch! Heat oil over high heat at 375 degrees.

Prepare batter. Mix up corn starch flour, a little baking powder, little salt, some garlic and butter and blend in a bowl with milk. Carefully dip the mushrooms in flour, then in the batter – coating completely. If batter gets too thick, add more water or milk a little at a time. Fry 6 or 8 mushrooms at a time in hot oil until golden, about 5 minutes. Drain on absorbent paper.

You can add a simple side salad with this and if you forgot to make it, you can keep the mushroom warm in an oven, it might also help to drain out some of oil!

On the 18th August, Michelle Obama and family went on Vacation, passing by the Grand Canyon………………it seems her shorts have caused quite a stir…
So bloody what! What is the big deal? Seriously? Leave her alone, her breasts were covered and her butt!

Who was she harming?
She is showing the american nation that she is normal, a normal black woman who is married to a normal black man.
It didn’t cause a stir when she wore them walking her dog Bo……………. but on holiday with her family in the Grand Canyon it is a problem? Come on.

On the bottle it states that it is ‘rich, hydrating lotion’, and ‘evens skin tone and texture’. It lists petroleum jelly and vitamin E as two key ingredients. The company’s website claims that the product ’smoothes away roughness and the appearance of dark spots’.

So far so good…..my skin is as smooth as a babies bum!
